Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

Smart answers to what parents typically ask about our online GCSE tutoring service. Anything else, just get in touch.

How do the online lessons actually work?+

Your child joins a live one to one video lesson with their tutor over Google Meet. The tutor shares documents, notes and past paper questions on screen throughout the lesson. No extra software or downloads are needed, just a browser and a stable internet connection.

Which exam boards do you cover?+

All of our tutors are fully briefed on both AQA and Edexcel specifications for KS3 and KS4. When you book, just let us know your child's exam board and year group so we can match a tutor and tailor resources accordingly.

How are tutors chosen and vetted?+

Every tutor goes through a subject knowledge assessment, a teaching demonstration and a full background and identity check, including an enhanced DBS check, before they are approved to teach. We accept a small percentage of applicants, so families can be confident in who is teaching their child.

Can we change or cancel sessions?+

Yes. Pay As You Go sessions can be booked and cancelled individually with no commitment. Monthly packages can be paused, adjusted or cancelled at any time, we do not lock families into long contracts.

What happens in the free consultation?+

We start with a short call to understand your child's current level, target grades and any specific gaps or worries. From there we recommend a tutor and package, and your child's first lesson includes an informal assessment so the tutor can build a personalised plan.

Do you provide progress updates for parents?+

Yes. Parents receive a report after every session covering what was studied, how their child performed and what to focus on next. Growth and Intensive packages also include a monthly parent progress call with the tutor.

What age groups and subjects do you support?+

We work exclusively with KS3 and KS4 students, from Year 7 through to Year 11, across Mathematics, English Language, English Literature, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography and History.

What if my child does not get on with their tutor?+

The right fit matters, so if your child is not comfortable with their tutor we will happily match them with someone new at no extra cost. Just let your parent liaison know and we will arrange it straight away.
